I've been doing some research myself but I always like some outside wisdom in case I've missed something or maybe a better idea going towards the same character that i hadn't come across. I've been planning on making the same type of character with my friend, so it's been helpful for me to put the ideas in writing and figure out whats good and whats bad. Geo would also be a good fit on an INT-focused teammate so they can throw a poison dart your Undead's way. There are many Death Knight builds using that. If it helps your team comp to have another fossil strike, fortify, poison dart, etc, then yea go for it with maybe just a few points in int. And you don't want to bother chipping the magic armor of enemies your going to kill physically.
